Alternative Budget Initiative (ABI), a consortium of 60 nongovernment organizations citizens’ groups and advocates, led by Social Watch Philippines, is calling for increased social spending that will benefit the poor through its alternative-budget proposal.
ABI has been actively engaging lawmakers in the budget process in the past three years, scoring the way the budget was approved by lawmakers without proper consultation with the affected sectors.
The Environment Cluster of the ABI is convened by the nongovernment organization the La Liga Policy Institute (La Liga).
